For some of us, the tipping-point comes very late.
A best friend of mine did not transition until 60, is now through the GIC and awaiting a date for surgery.

The Beaumont Society should be able to tell you where the nearest local trans group meets.
It does help having a friend to discuss things with etc.

From what you wrote, it seems that you aren't in the care of a GIC and are intending to self-medicate?
What is your age?
