Skype Support Group Show Notes for Sunday 3rd April 2011

Postby Ice Maiden » Sun Apr 03, 2011 2:51 pm

1. The main discussion was about diversity training, and how individuals may have an additional income or even a career in this ever expanding area. Large private firms and public bodies need to be 'trans aware' so have pots of cash sitting there to tick this off their diversity checklist along with other forms of discrimination. This was a very interesting discussion and some really interesting ideas emerged.

2. A more technical discussion today on how to move forward with the podcast plans in the future.
We examined and early day tested Talkshoe with Shoephone and this is an ongoing idea.
The Cohosts also downloaded and installed this software and tried it. We examined ways to record calls using Skype that do not need our full studio plan, so a simple 'heath robinson' method of using a alt account on another pc and tapping the call with a pro USB interface to a recorder or computer and onto a broadcast engine such as Shoutcast. No calls will be recorded or rebroadcast that are regularly scheduled, this is merely a brainstorming session for future podcasts on specific subject with specialist guests.

3. For the final part of the show we looked at Aiden's plans to encourage more FTM's to get involved with Skype chats of this kind and maybe host their own FTM only separate chat on Saturdays. If this interests you them PM aiden for more.

Plus of course the usual chit chat media info and what is going on over at TMW a very good session - thanks to all that took part :) See you again next time.
