Got my first appointment for cx November2011 my second May 2012(last week) and got the green light for Hormones.I was told i may have to wait up to 4 weeks for the letter because of the backlog and because follow up clinics are so busy i could only get an appointment in november2012 instead of september2012.

I got my first appointment in July 2012 after a seven month wait from the time the local specialist referred me to CX (itself after nearly six months' delay... I made the mistake of asking my GP if there was a private referral available, but her inquiries to the private clinics were ignored) and the second one another five months after that. I wasn't prepared for that and called to say "surely some mistake" and could perhaps have been dealt with more sensitively, being laughed at and told I was lucky it wasn't longer (I have to say that the staff I've met in person have been much nicer.)

Just had the second appointment, though I wasn't entirely clear about the outcome. I think I've been approved for hormone treatment, at least once the endocrinologist has looked at things (my health isn't all that great) but I'm now feeling quite stressed as time seems to be dragging by without a clear decision.

My third appointment is again seven months away, the middle of next year. I hope I don't have to wait until then for anything significant to happen!

They have offered me a series of fortnightly counselling though, which is an unexpected bonus, and the resident nurse has made efforts to squeeze me in at times convenient to me. She's been extremely helpful, and even has email!

My waiting time ended up being about a year and a half.

Cx clinic does appear to be getting somewhat busier and the waiting times between appointments longer. My third appointment was last month and my next is not until August 2013 which i am not unduly frustrated about. It is the 5th appointment at which i hope to be referred for surgery where i would be frustrated to have to wait a further 8 mths.
