Re: Archiving Begun

i have some mixed tapes now so am lifting bits from them

one gem is Full Video of Why Men Wear Frocks includieng an interview with Richard and Judy
here is the preview
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 506445986#
very good program only one issue that many transsexuals complain about was that Grayson bullied a TS a
bit and remarked you think of you surgery in a rather male way in that you flip the hood or bonnet and
sort out the engine - or words to that effect covers the Transvestite event in Scarborough :) they all go out and parade about and wander down the beach imaginge being a transphobe walking the other way with his dog LOL Faced with a baggage systems handler and hir mates (there is a freudian slip in there somewhere 'baggage') I particularly like the way he addressed how transvestites are portrayed, like psycho, silence of the lambs, dick emery, and of course the controversial Little Britains Emily Howard.
Interviews with school kids, Diane A from WOBS, and men at a race track all add to this all encompassing
approach to a rather sensitive subject.
that aside i really like Graysons style and he is a trans person and a controversial role model but one
nonetheless All i would say to anyone watching this program is imagine it had been presented by a non trans person ...
in that simple statement i reckon all arguments are won for transpeople to play and present trans roles
from now on as the depth grayson offers is clear for all to see (and hear)

This video needs a bit of TLC so will remove the noise from this so will take a few days to render i think

another is 'trannies by the sea' about a bed and breakfast that takes tvs in - it is all a bit desperate really LOL but interesting to watch as the people who stay are clearly pre ordered so are that 'typical extroverted type' so not a true reflection on the community

another one is quantum leap where Sam plays Samantha a 1950s secretary in a sexist firm in the US /states
very funny nand tbh tells us more about the absurdity of gender roles than just about anything else i have seen :))) a very good program as despite his appearance to us he is seen as a beautiful woman and is quite deep in that this is very much the mindset of many transgender people without intending to do so

and Jerry Srpringer when he invited English people to his US show and it was a transfest

Now archiving esther episode where jannet scott and russel reid speak to a studio audience about crossdressing

episode of kilroy on crossdressing

and dirty sanchez become women and go to holland to learn about it all this is actually a lot better than it sounds as they take it very well quite seriously

Just captured Geraldine like a woman http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104576/
excellent movie about crossdressing

and currently watching 'The Day that changed my life' Mark rees stephen whittle alex carlisle QC focuses on the FTM stuggle in the UK of that time and mark is very candid with his life and experiences and as an historical document this is perhaps one of the best ftm videos we have circa 1995

a lovely film with ellen barkin 'switch' this is a film that went under the radar a bit as a body swap movie

another is a clip of the film flying with one wing this is an FTM film binding and discrimination but is a very much unknown film that i would like to highlight here
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338484/ sri lankan movie

straight from the heart guilt of a ts documentary

and it goes on will list properly when these are all cliped up edited and denoised
