Ups and Downs

Postby Helen » Tue Jan 16, 2018 2:21 pm

Hi,
I don’t think that Tzone has as many visitors as it once had, but perhaps those who do pop in could give a view about the following situation. Louise, who is the person this refers to will check in from time to time in the hope that some advice will be forthcoming.
I have known her for a long time and during recent months she has stayed with me in an effort to find a better perspective on her life. I have not been able to help her very much because I haven’t gone through what she is going through, but she has seen her GP and had counselling.
Louise had her surgery 15 months ago, everything went well and initially she was very happy. She has a very good job, friends and the support of some of her family. She is 45 years of age. However, for no apparent reason about 6 months ago she lost her confidence and has been struggling to recover ever since. She has managed to retain her job, although her employer may be losing patience with her absences. I have spent time with her and encouraged her to embrace all that she has achieved. She has the benefit of a secure home and, like many of us, is just an ordinary woman going about her business.
Obviously, telling her to pull herself together isn’t the answer, but it would be useful for her to read about the experiences of others whose confidence fails sometimes and how they have dealt with it. She doesn’t want me to publish any other details about her.
Thanks in advance.
Helen

Not everybody feels like this but to me I can see a few issues that maybe worth investigating.

There are a few obvious issues.

1. Sounds like depression. Depression can often be treated as a 'cheer up!' But if it is serious it will need clinical treatement. AMITRIPTYLINE 10MG one before sleeping is quite common in people I know and did help them. But see the doc.

2. Hormone related. Women do produce their own testosterone, obviously not in the quantities men do. I have had this discussion with Steffi (Moderator) in this very forums and it is amazing. Get prescribed TESTOGEL 50mg Sachets - the GP may require an endocrinologist or ask Charing Cross Endo (at the Gender Clinic) to rubber stamp this. You smear a squirt (1/4 sachet) on the forearm let it dry in and try that for a few days. It should put your mojo back and return some sex drive!

3. Realisation! Sometimes in life the grass is not always greener. We can fight and fight for something in the same way the saying goes 'NEVER MEET YOUR HEROES'. In other words you have achieved a goal in life that has been ALL CONSUMING for as far back as you can remember. Now there is a huge VOID in the sub conscious! And nothing to put in there. This may need therapy. But it can be filled with some other major activity. What this is is hard to say in this way on a forum. But for some a relationship, and or maybe even adoption, fostering, volunteering, change of job for maybe less money but more fulfilling? Care work can be good because although less pay, it reinforces the positive life you currently have when faced with so many in a worse condition.

There that is something to start with

Hope this helps

And a Happy New Year Helen :) <3 Remember we are still getting the same traffic, I posted a link on Facebook (OUR BUSY PACKED GROUP) WE HAD 65 hits in 10 seconds! So people still come.

When transitioning you have to prove that you can be self sufficient and a go getter, I feel that the pressure may be too much for some and once post op are left in a void of not having anything else to achieve.
New hobbies, new friends and learning new skills may help.

I wish I could give her a big hug... I found myself feeling depressed and dragging at work last year (I did get in trouble), but the week I went on micronized progesterone I felt infinitely better! I don't recommend taking it full time but 10 days on and 20 days off is working well for me-
