Just a warning to any pet owners on here. Another dangerous substance used in many foodstuffs to keep your pets away from.

I know this is not new news but I had never heard of this risk until last weekend and a few other dog owners I have spoken to since never knew the risk either.

Personally I hate chewing gum but both my stepkids both chew the stuff religiously. People have reported that their dogs have gone through handbags, coat pockets etc., stolen sugar free gum and got seriously ill and in some cases they have lost their pet

I'd watch out for Aspartame more. Take a look at a documentary called Aspartame: Sweet Misery. It'll really make you think twice before reaching for that diet drink again.
