Does the DVD of the 2005 Champions' League final count? That always makes my world better!
Films that make the world okay again!
Re: Films that make the world okay again!
Spirited Away - Absolutely beautiful film.
The girl who leapt through time - I've only watched it once, but it did leave an impression on me.
I watch a lot of different types of films and have seen far more than I could hope to remember. I have to agree about Wall-E as well. An abundance of soppy delightfulness I would struggle to resist.
Generally, if I want to feel good I'll find a comedy to watch (or a decent stand-up show). Laughter is always the best medicine and makes troubles melt away.

top thread this Mils!
Sideways - a great commentary on life in general, and very funny too. Sorry everyone but I can't resist sharing one of my favourite scenes (Miles is a failed writer btw, played superbly by Paul Giamatti).....
MILES -
Half my life is over, and I have
nothing to show for it. I'm a
thumbprint on the window of a
skyscraper. I'm a smudge of excrement
on a tissue surging out to sea with
a million tons of raw sewage.
JACK -
See? Right there. Just what you just
said. That's beautiful. A thumbprint
on a skyscraper. I couldn't write
that.
MILES -
Neither could I. I think it's
Bukowski.
Local Hero - Eighties classic, great theme tune, v.comforting for me.
The Jerk - Steve Martins funniest film, narrowly beating 'The man with two brains' i think...
Love some of the others mentioned here too, Young Fraunkenschtein, Life of Brian ...
oh yeah..and one that always makes me bubble up a bit...........E.T.....

The Lion King
Best movie of all time in my opinion - I've got it on a 14 year old video (got it for my 2nd birthday)
Also the Life of Brian but it has already been mentioned by snowdoggy
