Quote of the day

Postby Ice Maiden » Sat Jul 23, 2011 8:21 am

You know, I am and have always been a big fan of good quotes.

Wilde, Meade (see my signature), sometime they are just perfect.

I heard one today from NASA astronaut when talking about the dangers of space flight

"Risk!", he said, "is the price of progress!"

And that is such a deep commentary for what it is being transgender.

That was written for us, especially in recent weeks.

What are yours?

No need to go trawling and copy and pasting them, i am only interested in the ones that mean something to you ;)x Oh and remember to give credits where possible ;)P
Disclaimer!!!! Please Read! http://media.transgenderzone.com/?page_id=2

"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have." M.Mead

Man [...] must count no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth." - J.P.Sartre.

Who am I?

Astor: "Winston if I were married to you I would put poison in your coffee!"
Churchill: "Nancy if I were married to you I would drink it."

There are some quite good 'famous last words' quotes around, usually pretty tasteless, like the alleged last words of the mayor of Hiroshima: "What the F--- was that!?"

Here are two from my daughter:

"Did you know that 95% of statistics are made up?"

"Have you heard that they're removing the word 'gullible' from the next edition of the Oxford Dictionary?"

I like the one in my signature. I think it sums up the nature of Humanity brilliantly. However, I think I'll post some ones which could be potentially of note to people in our situations.

"If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people." - Virginia Woolf

"It is never too late to be what you might have been." - George Eliot

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw
"Fish are not the best authority on water" - Jane Yolen; Sister Light, Sister Dark
