Advice needed on Top Surgery !

Postby Charilo » Thu Jul 23, 2015 12:48 pm

Rather than getting fully transitioned, I want to remove my drooping breasts from my chest. I'm considering a top surgery from a cosmetic surgery clinic which is nearby to the locality I live in Toronto. How long does the complete recovery from a top surgery taking? Will these scars fade completely within a year?

Hi Charilo,

Recovery from any surgery can vary from person to person. I was up and walking around within days but it isn't a good idea to lift heavy objects or raise your arms above chest height for at least a month if possible. I would doubt that the scars will fade completely within a year. Again this will vary. Skin colour, surgeon skills, complications and aftercare play a large part in how long scars take to fade. Parts of my scars are completely invisible now but I did experience a haematoma after surgery on my right side and that area is still quite visible many years after my surgery.

Some applications such as Bio-oil and believe it or not, hemorrhoid cream can help with fading the scars faster.
