I do not know about the hormone therapy type testosterone?
Everything that involves replacing hormones is hormone therapy. That's what some doctors call it, as a collective term to include testosterone replacement as well as estrogen replacement.
There's a common misconception that FTMs don't have a penis. I have 3. The first one is a micro penis, the second one is inside out and the third one is not attached.

I know this post was writing a good few year ago but I noticed, and realised it was posted roughly the same time that I started the nebido injections myself. I was, and still currently am on 1000mg/4ml (I think) of nebido and I get this via a session every 3 months/12 weeks with my GP or a nurse practitioner.

It took a little while to see noticeable changes but I did notice a voice change, a lot of facial hair/neck/stomach and some chest and back. And things such as my body frame altered a tad (I already had quite a stocky muscular build)
Overall I'm happy with the results and feel more than happy to take the injections and tests to get these results

Was wondering, hypothetically, what would be the best age to start taking testosterone? I heard treatment could make your bones go awkward during puberty while taking T, but isn't that the point? Anyways, what do you think would be the most efficient age range?

Men transition very well at any age as a rule. You would obviously (unless blessed with a flat chest) need 'top Surgery' but other than that you have the 'luxury of waiting'.

If however, you are a younger adult or adolescent you would need to be very careful and MUST have a specialist consultant in this area. In the UK it is at the Tavistock see UNDER 18

This would be a 'puberty blocker' see - http://library.transgenderzone.com/?page_id=2794

Meaning puberty is put on hold to prevent breast growth in the first place. And the mental trauma of it!

It is a very complex issue and not to be taken lightly. Testosterone WILL make irreversible changes to your body and you voice will break and sound masculine.

so i know you guys are all going to probably tell me not to buy T online haha, but I'm currently seeing my therapist to get a letter of recommendation for my doctor to start me on T, the problem is i can't pay my balance right now so i can't see my therapist again until i pay off the giant total

i have some vitamins i take but I'm looking for something more like the real thing, if any of you guys have any websites or intel on were i can get the injections or something just as good, just to hold me over, please do share.

i know its not always the safest choice, but I'm willing to take the risk at this point.

Hi Jesse,

Welcome to the forum and sorry it's taken so long for a reply

You are correct saying we are going to tell you not to buy T online.

It is dangerous to take T without having blood tests taken regularly to assess the levels in your body as too much testosterone can have many detrimental effects on your body.

I'm sure you already know this by what you have posted but just wanted to back you up and advise you against taking that route.
