Today I have seen a drag queen from my home town promoting there show as "tranny-oki" so I question there use of the T word. I stated to him that its abit like the use of the N word and would he dress up and do "N -oki" or do show as male and do "f*ggot-oki"
Still waiting see if these 2 shows happen!

Re: Debating the T word
I personally have fought this word for over 15 years and only now are people finally listening - driven by our media archives the data shows that this word is damaging and beyond question as far as I am concerned
It is now finally getting stateside that they need to get their act together and it is starting!
In our old forum you can see me arguing in 2007 before that sadly the forums are lost
http://tzone.freeforums.org/post2503.ht ... anny#p2503
But below you can see one of the most famous users of this term finally turn their back on it!
So You are right to be concerned Kirtsy! And I will back you 100%.
The thing is it is 'OK' to call ones self what we want - but do not do it in eye or earshot of me as then I am affected by it. A Show with this label is a far bigger problem as it will have an impact on other transpeople and encourage its use in hate-crime.

Re: Debating the T word
By the Way you can use the term in context here as it is unavoidable and is only for the reasons of practicality and debate within a safe transgender space!
We apologise for anyone being offended by it but we are fighting it too!
