I have no personal experience of them, but I've heard good things about Ultimate Skin in Leeds as far as tattooing is concerned - they do piercings also, so they might be worth a try.

I'll look into them, thanks for the tip. Not sure what I want but I've always fancied the idea of a ring in the top bit of my ear (terrible with locations) and perhaps a few others, although I'm a tad worried my affinity for headphones (and earphones) will cause problems or discomfort.

Apologies for stealing your topic, Millie

well rings in cartilage can end up with no ear at all - i know an ear specialist David Gault and although a plastic surgeon of note, he is one of the worlds leading surgeons and ear reconstructors - uses rib cartilage amazing

but most seems to be from botched ear piercings from what i can see of it

just a thought

see the last sentence - infected ear piercings - in a world of MRSA i think your average beauty salon is not going to have the infection control that a hospital has and they struggle to keep it under wraps

id leave it if i were you ;)P

Prescisely why I said I'd never go to somewhere like Claire's for a piercing - well, one of the reasons anyway -lack of sterility!

As for piercings through cartilege, they should NEVER be done by a gun! The stud is way too blunt to give a good clean hole, and can shatter the cartilege. A needle, however, should be fine for the job.
