The obvious answer is to speak to the surgeon who performed the surgery. As they usually will explain postop care.

However, if this is not possible you can speak to the family Doctor (GP) or even the practice nurse or surgical nurse specialist if the surgeon is hard to get hold of. They will explain exactly what to do.
