I guess so.......but it's not that simple.
I have lost the speed in my fingers and also the sheer strength to hold chords on.
The scales etc have faded from my mind.
More importantly, my finger ends used to be as hard as wood - hard callouses had built up from many, many hours of playing.
With soft fingertips, it soon gets painful - you are after all pressing down on a thin piece of wire which is under tension. The end of a soft finger also spreads out and touches other strings it is not supposed to.
I also do not want to go back to it and just be rubbish - it would frustrate me and I would not be happy. I would want to be back where I was for speed and fluency.
So ...... could I get back to where I was? Yes, I probably almost could - but it will take me two years of consistent hard work and to be honest I don't think that I have the dedication and commitment any more :-s
