UK Television Transgender Monthly Round up July 2014

Postby Ice Maiden » Sat Aug 02, 2014 2:55 pm

So here we go again!

What is broadcast in the UK reflects on you as a transperson. Every month it is a case of spot the positives. Almost all television featuring anything remotely associated with transpeople is negative, comical or are negative stereotypes. So if we do not list them they go unchallened as evidence is needed to effect change! Or even give awards.

It is a thankless and time-consuming task - but as they say without it we would have no idea if any progress is being made in the media.

Progress has remained stagnant for the last decade the trend is actually worse which is contrary to what people might thin with the positive spin put on by many online.

High Points
'Trans* Pride' 'This Morning' and 'Loose Women'.

Low points

HOLLYOAKS WEEKDAYS - THE FULL BLOG!

Hollyoaks is now establishing itself with the controversial trans character 'Blessing Chambers'.

Image

However rather than have every single daily episode listed here I will simply direct you to the main blog thread that includes the daily storyline and photos so you can catch up!

viewtopic.php?f=48&t=4273

So I have deliberately not included this in this Log for practical reasons and length.

=========================================

So let's begin.

---

All Aboard- East Coast Trains
29/06
Pick

I think I recognised a transperson in this episode but will not say who or where as they did not appear as, or mention any trans issues.

Benidorm
01/07
ITV1

The Garveys are alarmed by rumours of a gang kidnapping the unwary and stealing their organs so, when Michael sees a tall dark stranger bundling Madge into a car, they are convinced she is a victim. Still after a fourth star for the Solana, Joyce invites Victor St James of Costa Class magazine to visit - but things quickly start to go wrong. Trudy attempts to be ladylike for 24 hours in order to win a bet with Sam. Donald and Jacqueline try to find other swingers in the area.

Comment

Cross-dressing in silly outfits for laughs.

---

The Matrix
06/07
ITV2

Fast-paced sci-fi thriller in which a lone computer hacker attempts to discover the meaning of 'The Matrix'. When he makes contact with a group claiming to know the answer, he falls into a nightmare of alternate realities and malevolent mind-control. The film draws on Japanese manga comic books and cyberpunk literature, and makes use of a radical special-effects technique that seems to alter time perception.

Comment

Now a Sci-Fi classic (some even think it is true - David Icke anybody?.

However unbeknown to us at the time the co director was a transgender person .

Then Larry Wachowski now Lana has the potential to be the Transgender Spike Lee. Spike Lee changed black cinema forever, so can she for the trans community? She could but will she?

Trans cinemas is a make or break genre. Many tap it to get started, as do many transgender people tap their trans-currency to start with. However they quickly realise that just trans stuff will not pay the rent and they suddenly find they are adapting to gay issues. GLB-t. Despite trans being about gender and gay being about who you fancy. In this instance the person using Male Privilege has already made the grade. So simply side step over to being a trans director. One might ask if she had began as Lana would she have made it this far? This is the rub.

Still, if it all goes wrong she can always return to trans niche stuff after all that's something to fall back on. But that is kinda a shame. As I said we need a Trans Spike Lee. Someone who goes for it and changes trans cinema for the better. But for now trans are victims and failures, Hookers and dead bodies. Even Laverne Cox is a criminal in Orange is the New Black. And Candis Cayne was a Sex Worker turned Girlfriend.

I just think Trans people are more than that - don't you? Lana has the power and connections to make this happen!

Dara O Briain, Hugh Dennis and Andy Parsons laugh at another week's news with guests Chris Addison, Stewart Francis and Ava Vidal.

A rather pleased with himself and smug Chris Addison (no stranger to this type of joke).
"Prepare to meet a new breed of SEX-CHANGE Super Hero in the X-MEN!

Comment

Been done heard it before!

Transgender women are not X-MEN they are women assigned male at birth. Forced to comply and act as men by a society that quite frankly is stone age in it's thinking - still!

This kind of joke is like the disgusting way bananas and Jungles were (and in some cases still are at Soccer matches) used to mock the Black community in the 1970s.

Describing a trans woman as the 'male' gender they were assigned --- by the state --- at birth is deeply offensive! The State were wrong. But laughing at this is out of order and must now stop!

Loose Women
07/09
ITV1

Eddie Izzard and Great British Bake-Off's Holly Bell join Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Nadia Sawalha for some lunchtime chat.

Comment

Always a great booking. Eddie's charisma is startling! A rare trans-identified person who has stayed the course to an international standard of appreciation - a 'National Treasure' yet not on the 'Pink List'? Or the Guardian's 'World Pride Power List'?!!!

It's not my job to remind them he exists - he maybe Mayor of London in a few years maybe that will be enough? I am being sarcastic btw ;)x

I think Christine Burns chose Paris and others for the Pink List because of their Twitter followers? With the greatest respect Eddie has 3.2 Million! Still not enough? The mind boggles!

How can Eddie be overlooked? Its nonsense! He raised millions for charity running marathons for Comic Relief too! I wonder if Eddie will be Dame or Sir? hehehe.

Winner of our 'Best Documentary' in the http://www.TransgenderTelevisionAwards.com/ to boot as well ;) At least we remembered him eh?

Perhaps this will remind the 'list makers' for next time?

07/07
Channel 4

Noel Edmonds presents a special edition of the game show as actor and comedian James Corden takes on the Banker in attempt to win money for the Terrence Higgins Trust and Save the Children.

Comment

Girl from audience walks to exchange a box for James Corden.

She has studded leather knee High black boots a bowler hat and black jacket.

James Corden - That's lucky as I was going to wear that. That would have been embarrassing wouldn't it!

Audience laughter.

Is this the face of someone happy with transissues? We have all seen that face before. I don't really wanna see it at tea-time particularly.

Still most would say - "Lighten-up its ONLY a cartoon!" Problem is it is relentless! And if you have enough grains of 'harmless sand' you can create concrete boots to weigh you down and be drowned in the river!

It is not the 'grains' that is the problem - it is what a billion of them create that is the problem!

---

Benidorm
08/07
ITV1

Madge is preparing for her wedding to Mohammed, but is he all he seems? Joyce recruits Donald and Jacqueline to spy on the staff. Trudy plays a trick on Sam.

Comment

Les/Lesley the Hotel TV in the shape of Tim Healy is likeable, is older, and has a face only a mother could love (he knows that I think). So in theory I should be pleased. Plus it is possible Tim could be a TV as in most cases this character would be played by a ciswoman (Hayley/Blessing/Mrs In-betweeny). However, it is played for gags. This is a comedy. And it just doesn't sit right with me.

It feels like the 1980s. BBC Programmes like 'It Ain't half Hot Mum' with the 'browning-up' of whites as Asians have been shelved as repeats despite their popularity at the time. However, that sensitivity has not yet reached the transgender world. It will be along soon I am banking on it. And so does this site. We are constantly remarking and critiquing and rewarding those that play ball and play fair! Nuff said. These are repeats - its apparently pretty 'harmless'. But it is still played as 'a silly man in a dress' - so whats new? Search for Benidorm in the search box at the top of this page to see all our entries on this series. This is the grains of sand argument again. There simply is NO balance!

Trans people ARE seen as A JOKE! Those that are not are seen as a freak show or a turn-on!

Where are the beige transpeople? The Weather presenters? The Blue Peter Hosts? The Local News Anchors?

Star Trek: The Next Generation
09/07
CBS Action

The Dauphin - Sci-fi drama series about the crew of a Federation starship. The Enterprise is assigned to escort a young girl to the planet she was born to rule, but this woman of Wesley's dreams is not all she seems.

Comment

Teenage officer Wesley Crusher is disgusted when he discovers that the girl he is in love with is not really a girl!

Hmmm....

Comment

Girl - Welsley I have to go now (to rule a planet).
Wesley - Was it fun?
Girl - Look at me - What I am now is a ... girl.
Wesley - What are you really?
Girl - Does it matter?
Wesley - Yes!
Girl - you couldn't possibly imagine.
Wesley - So you took this [female presentation] for for my benefit?
Girl - I am sorry I hurt you! I didn't mean too.
Wesley - I loved you!
Girl - I love you too!
Wesley - Can you?
Girl - YES! I have the same feelings and the same emotions as you! You must believe me!
Wesley - Please Go!
Girl - let's not say goodbye like this.

Wesley stares hatefully - the girl leaves upset.

Sounds familiar somehow...

Ladyboys
10/07
Pick

Following on from the acclaimed documentary exploring the world of Thailand's ladyboys, this thought-provoking series offers further insight into a sector of Thai society that makes up one per cent of the country's population. Find out exactly what it takes to make a man into a woman. Cameras follow two patients as they embark on sex change procedures.

Comment

Good programme shame about them saying Sex-Change in the listing although I understand why.

Nevertheless this is Ground Hog Day!

They have one programme and repeat it and repeat it and repeat it - make a new one!

---

Secrets of Sex - Normal
12/07
Community

Documentary presenting the real life stories of male, female and transgender migrants working in the sex industry in Albania, Italy and the UK.

Comment

Another opportunity to see this programme from last month.

Features trans-voices - so that's good!

But it is about being sex-workers so that's a stereotype. We need some balance and this isn't it!

Nevertheless, this like 'Ladyboys' above is realising that its 'transgender-currency' is high and for such a cheaply made programme they are now repeating and repeating it. This actually demonstrates a negative in the long run! As it appears exploitative.

Hairspray
13/07
E4+1

Remake of the cult musical satire set in 1962 Baltimore. A chubby teenager who dreams of stardom has a run-in with the star of a hit teenage dance show and her hair-lacquered mother. Not content with ousting the local rich kid, the rotund-yet-rhythmic heroine and her friends cause a race riot on TV dance-fest 'The Corny Collins Show' when they bring along a few black friends.

Comment

This is a bit of an odd one as whilst they do mange to make John Travolta look female - I just don't see the point. This is a bubblegum version of the original with 'Divine' who tbh was a far better and more powerful presence on camera than JT mincing about.

It is a song and dance show. The actress was OK but again Rikki Lake - YEAH THAT ONE - played her in the original and well she was better.

Like Rocky Horror it just gives non transpeople the opportunity to cross-dress for pay across the world in AM DRAM.

This was a remake in the true sense of the word. It was carefully managed as to be all things to all people. So it would sell tickets in the box office.

Trivia - Do you know the original when it was released on home video came with smell-o-vision cards that you could scratch during the film. Farts and Pizzas are what I remember most LOL - Those were the days!

So in summary - a smooth, and slick remake, with all the juice squeezed out. A dream for Prothetic makers told they have to make JT into a woman. The original was GRITTY, GROTESQUE and FUNNY! And that was when it really mattered! But who needs that?

Star Trek: The Next Generation
'Q Who?'
17/07
CBS Action

Sci-fi drama series about the crew of a Federation starship. Q hurls the Enterprise to the far side of the galaxy and into a deadly encounter with the Borg. Picard has to admit the Borg are beyond Federation technology.

Comment

This is interesting, Star Trek over the years changed its 'No man has gone before' line to 'no one'.

However if you read this transcript carefully you can still see it is a patriarchal society.

The Borg are described here as an Intersex group - their babies grown in incubators on their ship in large nurseries.

One boards the Enterprise to examine their 'technology' for the first time (I do think this was a smart invention by the writers as films followed as they are the US Daleks to UK's 'The Doctor') as technology is what they are interested in. This was the first of many such encounters with 'The Borg' - however listen to this!

Q to Jean Luc - "Interesting isn't it [Note the 'IT' at this point]." "Not a He, not a She, not like anything you have ever seen!" "An enhanced humanoid [strange that all the galaxy refer to themselves as 'human'oid...Anyways I digress.]."

Jean-Luc to Borg drone - "What is it you want? We mean you no harm. Do you understand me?"

Q Reappears next to Jean-Luc - "Understand you? You're nothing to 'HIM', 'HE' is not interested in your life-form." "He's just a scout - the first of many." "HE is here to analyse your technology." "HE may attempt to gain control of the ship - I wouldn't let him!"

Yet in later episodes the hive mind ('Queen of the Borgs') is treated as a woman because she presents as one?!

So the intersex gender non-binary illusion didn't last long here.

It is fascinating how script writers gender aggressors as male and seductresses and manipulators as female.

Sexist nonsense.

This Morning
17/07
ITV1

Presented by Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes. There is a look through the day's headlines, and all your comments and views in the Hub.

Comment

The Hub presenter - Laura Whitmore
Offers the viewers to vote for a favourite clip from a past Soap storyline.

She offers

"Emmerdale - a trip to France with Charles and Diane?"
"Eastenders - The moment Irene catches Frank and Pat in bed on Holiday in Spain."
"Coronation St - And the time Steve McDonald seduced a saucy transsexual whilst in Malta - I won't forget that one! [Shaking her head]."

Image itv

This episode has lead to more use of the term 'Tranny' in Coronation Street over the years for laughs and humiliation than any other clip in the Soap. It is not the idea, it is the execution and the constant returning to the event for humiliating Steve that's the problem. If you search our site for Coronation Street and Steve you will likely find a few. And this was with Hayley living across the way too at the time. They learned nothing from a transgender character being cast?

Oh! PS, GUESS Which clip won? Yeah you guessed right - Coronation Street's one.

The Girls presenting it started out saying "Transsexual" here.

Image itv

When she showed the winning clip where Steve leaves the trans* woman in disgust she refers to her as...

"That winning clip where Steve was seduced by that Transvestite in Malta!"

They show the clip...

Image itv

And despite the trans* person being distressed in the clip - she then laughs.

Sharon the Soap pundits also laugh, Sharon says - "They never gonna let him live that down, that photo was above the bar for years.

Image itv

She also presents a upcoming still photo from Emmerdale saying "I am not sure why he is wearing the frock! - (laughing). It must be the Hen and Stag Night?"

Image itv

But laughing at a 'silly man in a dress' - bit of a theme here?

In the background is another person cross-dressed.

My view is would they black-up for a stag and they all laugh at this in the same way? It is the funny many in a dress - TWICE! I mean Hayley and Blessing are a waste of time as they have learned NOTHING from trans characters so far.

Disappointing and although not 'This Morning's' Fault (don't shoot the messenger 'n' all that), The producers and script writers of these soaps who feed them all this should be ashamed of themselves!

Ladyboys
'Ladyboys Doing It For Themselves'
17/07

Following on from the acclaimed documentary exploring the world of Thailand's ladyboys, this thought-provoking series offers further insight into a sector of Thai society that makes up one per cent of the country's population. This final episode soars into the skies with PC Air, the world's first airline to hire ladyboy stewardesses. We also catch up with Nok, who has a life-changing decision to make.

The Wright Stuff
18/07
Channel 5

Matthew Wright hosts the topical debate show.

Comment

Eurasure's Lead singer Andy Bell talks about his Hip Operation.

Matthew - "Is it true you have got Pink Hips?"

Andy B - "I wore the old ones out with too much Can-Can dancing. (LAUGHTER) The surgeon was the Queen Mum's Transsexual Hip surgeon and gave me Pink cups - she was a lovely lady."

I suppose a transsexual and the 'Pink Hips is his 'dining out story', The Late Kenny Everett had a similar one about having a Transsexual chef at his wedding reception (he did marry once). I am not suggesting there is any malice in it. But why mention it at all? Unless it is tapping trans-currency'?

I mean she is a surgeon who gave him Pink Hips not a Transsexual surgeon who gave him Pink Hips? Unless he is exploiting the trans* individual - Surely? It may seem petty, but it is kinda like saying:

"I got the bus, the Gay Bus Driver gave me a ticket to Marble Arch where that Jamaican Straight woman has a Newspaper Stand, I bought a Mars bar from the White Bissexual male at the shop on the corner before coming home..."

[...And don't call me Shirley! IM]

People just do not talk like that with anything else - only transgender people it seems. And as he is Gay I assume this is also Gay Licence? http://library.transgenderzone.com/?page_id=2976

If He is Gay then would he liked to be described as 'GAY ANDY BELL' in every conversation that people have about him? Just making a point! Ironically the Surgeon is unable to speak about him due to patient confidentiality. So I guess we will never really know if the cups were actually pink ;)

Comedy starring Martin Lawrence and Nia Long. An FBI officer impersonates a large, sharp-tongued elderly woman in order to catch a crook. (2000) [S]

Comment

Laugh at a fat woman (man dressed as a fat woman).

Ironically this was saved a little by 'Big Momma's House 3' Entitled Big Momma's: Like Father, Like Son (2011). Whilst it was still along the same lines at least the son took it seriously - it is an 'undercover story rather than a trans one. Nevertheless - same old, same old.

Helen Perry (nee Stephen) who served 10 years in the Royal Navy as 'Stephen' and her Daughter Lleahan Perry, who fully supports her father living as a woman [SIC], speak about the unusual situation whereby the daughter first had a transgender father, and then her fiance Christopher aka 'Chi Chi' also turned out to be trans; who she has now married and expecting their first child with. Eamonn and Ruth asked if Lleahan had some form of transgender radar maybe, or looked for traits in people that were subconscious? 'Before and After' photos etc... were shown.

Quote of the day goes to the daughter who when asked, "how come she was so mature about all this?" And she replied,

"Why would you want somebody to be miserable?!"

Very good piece and very nicely done by presenters - however Ruth Langsford has gone under the radar a little and she really is shining lately with these trans guests.

Star Trek - The Next Genration
22/07
CBS Action

Manhunt - Sci-fi drama series about the crew of the USS Enterprise. Counsellor Troi's mother beams herself aboard the Enterprise and sets her sights firmly on Captain Picard.

Comment

Although it is not trans in itself it does demonstrate something interesting in the dialogue that I was alerted to.

Troi's Mother to Worf (Klingon) "Your thoughts they're primal, savage - I like that in a man!
Worf - I am not a man (Proudly!).
Troi's Mother - Which is in your favour men being so irrational and egotistical! But unfortunately I have grown accustomed to human companionship!

This is probably one of the rare times I have heard a character say, "I am not a man!" proudly, and be seen in the show as better for doing so - so it is kinda sad. This logic is only applicable to aliens!

Big Brother's Bit On The Side

Channel 5

A round-up of Big Brother-related news and debate, with special guests, exclusive footage and behind the scenes treats.

Comment

Lauren Harries makes the most of her usual staircase 'moment' to the delight of the audience.

Lauren really does enjoy being girlie and wearing very dressy outfits - have to admire her for that! I think that is what most people enjoy most about her, her being the girl many simply do not have the courage to be!

However, this does make he 'different' it reinforces her difference. It is 'entertainment' someone to gawp at. Rather than listen to. I think she is actually quite interesting when she does get the chance to speak. But the 'enforced joviality' can suffocate anything negative she may want to mention. When Lauren was in Big Brother, her time in the secret room speaking about her life was very moving. But that is soon forgotten amongst the flouncy fabrics.

Embarrassing Bodies
24/07
Channel 4

Medical series. Dr Pixie helps a young man with a six-year-long posterior problem. Dr Christian meets Dawn, a transitioning male to female transsexual.

Comment

"There is much more to Dawn's story than wanting a proper prosthetic!"

And this is what I suppose is the 'money shot' in television terms. It would have been great if they had said Dawn needs a prosthetic, Dawn needs a breast augmentation, and Dawn needs a Tummy Tuck and Dawn Needs her teeth fixed.

And left the trans issues aside. Imagine that!!! If the show could have done that? But they can't as that was what the show wanted. They can get all the other issues I suspect by the lorry load, but the trans 'sell' http://blog.transgenderzone.com/?p=1043 is actually greater here than all the other ailments put together.

If it is unavailable on the NHS - then why is that? They could campaign for this and name and shame.

Whilst this is lovely for Dawn and Jenny who have both been on the show and been treated wonderfully, where does it leave trans people who do not have a Television Production Company's select them for treatment and write the cheques?

It may cause more harm than good as body dysmorphic people will see just how lucky some are - it is like watching people who win the lottery. Good for them! And inside they just die a little more knowing they will never get this!

The Simpsons
25/07
Channel 4

Barting Over: Bart is furious to discover that not only did he appear in an embarrassing TV advert as a baby, but Homer spent all his earnings.

Comment

Bart - I want to be emancipated!
Homer - But son don't you like being a dude?

This is a 'sex-change' joke. It is also reinforced by the way Bart suddenly crosses his legs and does a camp pose (see picture).

One can only glean that Homer was supposed to be thinking he said, "I want to be castrated?" I don't know but either way it is what it is - no question about that!

The Simpsons does have a rather transphobic undercurrent that we often mention in our logs - usually it is to humiliate.

But the argument given is that, "it is fine as it is only a 'cartoon'!"
- well it is written by men. Probably not trans men, and not trans women, they are likely to be white middle class, middle-aged, wealthy male-privileged men. But me saying that would be prejudiced?

The problem is when something like 'The Simpsons' make transphobia institutionally acceptable to laugh at for all ages. It becomes a very difficult thing to challenge. After all - who doesn't like the Simpsons?!!!

'Family Guy' is the adult version of this show and equally as bad, but at least they are vicious with everyone. Is that good? I wonder if we mocked the writer's own family it would be quite so funny?

There are two ways to harm something - the first is to walk up and bash it with a brick or other object! The second is more sinister - like cancer. You don't know you got it until it is often too late. and it kills!

The Simpsons is a very passive-aggressive infection. No one really notices, but it is constantly infecting. Do a search in the top box for 'Simpsons' and see for your self how often it happens! Plus as these are repeats they constantly go around and around and are on the so called MOU http://www.transmediawatch.org/Document ... anding.pdf channel of Channel 4.This may at first appear harmless. But it is like adding another elastic band to the ball. Sooner or later the ball gets too big, rolls over and crushes you to death!

Comment

Eddie Izzard ... Roman Nagel

Eddie plays boffin Roman Nagel. This is the secret with having a trans identity - take jobs that are unusual too!

Eddie can take most 'eccentric parts' and he does them beautifully - not forgetting his voice-over work! That is another avenue that can be exploited of course.

Lesson to other actors who are trans, stop going for the cisgender leads and maybe become the intersexed character in a New 'Star Wars' ;) (Is there one? Apart from the HUTTS none so far!)

It's still acting and it's still work. Better than being '3rd dead hooker from the right in a bar' that's for sure ;)x

Rambo (2008)

Revival of the bloody military action series. The eponymous commando is coaxed out of retirement to act as a guide to a group of aid workers on a humanitarian mission in Burma. However, when the Burmese army captures the group, he mounts a violent one-man rescue mission to try to save the missionaries.

Comment

Unlike 'First Blood' that is often confused with this. This is the 2008 version where a now much older Sly Stalone comes to the rescue with a band of 'cut-throat' mercenaries.

The issue is, it is in Burma. And the abuse given to the captors is thus.

"You f*cking c*nt!"

"Come and 'ave a go at me you f*cking LADYBOY!!!"

This is a trans term used with extreme EXTREME!!! violence.

Ironically using a transphobic term to abuse the Burmese than a more 'obvious' racial one is telling! This demonstrates that the writers were 'sensitive' to some extent. But again it is a case of transphobia being a less risky option to racism for global film sales (and awards) than offending the entire Far East and Indonesia!

Still what are transgender people gunna do eh?!!! This is why they get away with it!

30/07
Channel 4

Mr Spritz Goes to Washington - When Springfield Airport changes its flight paths to send all its planes over Evergreen Terrace, the Simpsons convince Krusty to run for Congress so he can change things.

Comment

The election committee for Krusty have to do some cover-ups of any shame in his past and one was a transgender person.

"She was a GUY!"

Hmmm...

More grains of sand...

Secrets of Sex - Normal
30/07
Community

Documentary presenting the real life stories of male, female and transgender migrants working in the sex industry in Albania, Italy and the UK.

Comment

OK This is becoming a habit - there is a fine line between reporting something like this and then seeing it as Trans-currency and flogging it to death!

We have seen it now. it is being constantly repeated. for months - make something else!

I mean even we can make a new show every week that has transpeople in it!

31/07
ITV1

Noreen checks in - with her daughter. Les/Lesley is getting on Mateo's nerves. The Garveys decide to visit a water park. Donald and Jacqueline decide to help Madge.

Comment

(REPEAT)The first real showing of Les/Lesley as the clown character and sings 'Poker-face' at the end with legs apart. Earlier Roller skates around the pool in a mini skirt. I am not fussed if this were an actual transwoman as at least we could just laugh along? As it is, it is laughing AT the trans community rather than with them.

More grains of sand!

The IT Crowd
31/07
E4

(REPEAT)
Moss and the German: Sitcom set in an IT department, written by Father Ted's Graham Linehan and produced by The Office's Ash Atalla. Worried that his life is stagnating, Moss enrols on a German cookery course. Jen discovers that the only place in the building where she can now enjoy a cigarette is a smoking area not unlike Soviet Russia.

There is a twist in the end of a Film Roy wants to watch.

When sitting with his Boss the Boss tries to guess the twist.

"I've heard of this flick there is a twist in it!"
"You think it's the future but it is actually set in the past? No? Um....
"It's not Earth?"
"They are all clones?"
"He's his own brother?"
"They are all ghosts?!"
"It's all a dream?!"

"I bet he's a woman that bloke!!!"

(LAUGHTER).

Comment

This is always repeated on Channel 4 time and time again. They also mocked transpeople in the very last episode ever.

"HE IS A WOMAN THAT BLOKE?"

Where do I begin with that statement?..

Let's not bother it is the end of a LONG MONTH!

---

Just remember transphobia is the accumulation of all this above - THE GRAINS OF SAND THAT WILL EITHER SUFFOCATE YOU OR DROWN YOU WITH THEIR WEIGHT! - it is not any one programme! It is the accumulation of them all mixed together and vomited onto us with violence and discrimination. I mean even the one soap (Hollyoaks) that has a trans character didn't have the decency to cast a transwoman for it!

we must leave you until next time!

Check out the Transgender Television Awards 2013 they are published here!

http://www.TransgenderTelevisionAwards.com

We can only dream of one entry in this list one day! And this is only what we spot I suspect we miss 80% of what is going on!
